Today is an ill day 😦 I’m in bed feeling a bit rubbish so to keep mymind off ill feelings i thought i would do a quick update.
This money belt was picked up by a happy customer.
My clever mummy has been making bunnies for Easter.
Lots of rest and relaxation time with smelly candles.
Done a bit more to ripply blankie, with help of my piggy mug.
Fairy colouring book to keep me occupied today.
More ripply blankie which is growing nicely.
Hopefully i will be up and about again soon, but for now i will be crafting from my bed inbetween sleeping.
Hope I haven’t left you too long with this one. But you don’t have to wait anymore! Are you ready?! Here you go!
I know its still wonky…thats me not blocking it yet, being distracted with life but you get the idea! It’s very snuggly and keeps me warm when I sleep during the day and comes with me quite a lot!
So, what next? A sneaky peek for you…
A ripply blanket!! Lovely inspiration from Attic24 . Anyone else doing a ripply blanket?!
I took part in my first swap on ravelry with Jordan (InItToKnitIt) and I got some amazing things!! Have a look!
I had some fairy cake cases – perfect for all my baking! A beautiful hand stitched heart, some heart buttons, a cupcake plaque and a chocolate heart lolly! I feel very lucky so thank you Jordan!
Whilst I remember, here is a photo of my latest cake creation.
It was well recieved by the customer!
On The Blanket news, I have finished!! But I do need to sew in the ends and block it so I will keep you waiting a bit longer I’m afraid!
I’m very excited! I just need to finish the boarder of The Blanket which I will do after this post! In between crocheting like a mad thing I’ve been doing other bits and pieces.
I made a set of my craft drawers look pretty, loved doing this as it took me 10mins and the transformation was huge!
Colouring! Nice and relaxing and will come in handy for card toppers.
Cupcakes 🙂 Had a few valentines orders come through which kept me busy, I have an x box controller cake to make tomorrow, but for now I just want to put my feet up and finish The Blanket!
Ps. Has anyone ever backed a crocheted patchworked blanket before with material?
If you have been following me then you know I’ve been trying to find a particular type of wool so I can finish The Patchwork Blanket. Today I finally found it!!!
So now I don’t really have any excuse not to finish it so stand by for some progress shots in the coming weeks!
I’ve been doing some other crafty things whilst the wool hunt has been on and all will be revealed soon!
Only a short post today as I’m pretty tired. Ooo, I did see something really cool today! At the place where I bought the wool there was a lady doing some crafty things, showing everyone how to make good use of stamps etc I learnt lots!
Remember The Patchwork Blanket? The one with only 9 squares to go (well, 4 now actually!) I ran out of wool… I was all keen and on a roll and then the end of the wool slipped through my fingers leaving me gawping at it like a goldfish thinking, “this can’t be true!!”
After lots of not very nice words it was time to solve the wool situation which was going to be really easy as it’s a very common brand of wool…or so I thought. To cut a tedious story short, 4 shops later and no wool. I did however find some pretty things!
Cupcake bag, very handy for hydro/swimming as its all waterproof! Some pretty ribbon for my stash! Some pretty Cath Kidston tissues which I don’t want to use as they are too pretty, perhaps I can just look at them instead?!
New shopping list for fridge, cupcakes of course! I thought it was really pretty and fits in with my kitchen well.
Before the shopping event I had hydro (I go to the hospital twice a week because of an illness I have, I’d rather talk about pretty things though!) I also had Fairy over with her Mummy and my Mummy (they help me with house things due to silly illness I mentioned up there). So anyway, at the moment I am Fairy’s best friend which is lovely as she is super cute and cuddle and is still young enough to have that small child smell (the nice sort!) Fairy loves her music which really pleases me (I’m a musician) and I thought it was time to show her the piano.
Her little hands were very gently pressing one key at a time, very impressive for a 2 1/2 year old! She budged me off the piano stool and told me “I show you properly Aunty Holly.” I asked her if she liked my playing, “No.” Ah, alright then..
I’m on a crafting challenge tonight, hopefully you will see what I’m talking about soon!
February already! After having “The Big Sort Out” I discovered too many WIP’s, one of which was my patchwork crocheted blanket. I’m ashamed to say that I started this several years ago and it still isn’t finished (cue more grumbling from hubby..). I heaved it all out and reassesed how far I had actually got and low and behold this is what I found when I layed it out..
A very definate HALF a blanket – an ENTIRE half!! After a bit of excited squealing I had a very determined mood come over. I would finish this blanket before my birthday (May 1st). At the moment I have 9 squares lefts to make (yippee!) And the sewing together bit to do. Now, opinions are very much needed here, do you think I should do a few lines of granny stitch to make a thick border? It’s not quite as big as I thought it would be. Advice greatly appreciated!
With the help of my trusty notebook I begin to write a list of WIP’s. I can’t show you the list as it is shameful!! But I do like writing lists (I have a thing about lists), of course with lists comes notebooks and staionary, all brightly coloured and prettyful! Hubby does grumble about my amount of pretty notebooks but I just can’t seem to help it!
Lots of resting is needed with me (I have a siillness that gets in the way of day to day things but I always manage some kind of crafty thing to keep me occupied! Buttons for example. Pretty bright buttons that can be used on my crochet!
My stash is looking a little low but hopefully it will soon grow! I love the jar too.. I did have to wait for hubby to eat the sweets that were in it first though!
After browsing through lots of crafty blogs on here and adding a ton of blogs to follow I’m thinking I should get going on more crochet squares, they keep looking at me and I’m ignoring them but can see them from the corner of my eye. Need a bit of motivation I think!
Please feel free to comment below and say Hi with any patchwork blanket solutions! I’m always looking for new crafty blogs to follow so let me know your blog name too!
